PDF File Download: Final Fantasy VI – Terra NAF Tab
Original Composer: Nobuo Uematsu
Technical notes: Requires use of cross fingering and three upper octave notes – not all flutes will be able to reach the very highest. Play on an NAF in the key of E if you wish to accompany the original track.
Waffle: A very familiar piece of music to those who’ve played FFVI, Terra’s theme occurs regularly throughout the game’s soundtrack. It’s used primarily as the overworld theme in the first half of the game, but is also heard during the opening credits as part of the track Omen and later in the tracks Awakening and Protect the Espers.
On playing: The fingerings jump around a lot so take it slowly, a line at a time, and give yourself time to build up your muscle memory. There’s a big jump to the upper octave note within the third line which you’ll need to ‘plan ahead’ for! The second section contains the very highest note – again, a big jump up to it – however not all flutes will be able to reach it, so either substitute another note in or pause for a beat or two if your flute can’t hit it. The first verse is repeated once, as is noted in the tab, before it proceeds to the second verse and the bridge section.
