PDF File Download: The Lone Ranger – Silver NAF Tab
Original Composer: Hans Zimmer
Technical notes: Requires use of one cross-fingered note, half-holing and one upper octave note. Play on an NAF in the key of E if you wish to accompany the original track.
About: Zimmer’s composition ‘Silver’ is based on a traditional Irish piece of music known as ‘After the Battle of Aughrim.’ The theme begins in earnest at 1m 44s in the video linked below below; the ‘intro’ leading up to it is exactly the same melody, played a lot slower and with slightly different phrasing in a couple of parts – you can easily work it out for yourself from the tab I’ve provided should you wish to play it also.
On Playing: Really very easy to play. There are a few instances where I’ve tabbed in the grace notes within the melody – these are clusters of three notes grouped together with no space between them, so play them in quick succession. There is one instance where a note goes outside of the range of the NAF which I’ve marked in with an ‘x’ in the tab – so you can either choose to pause for a beat or substitute in another note as you prefer.
